Beauty Tip by Cheryl Wright
Have you been considering whether bangs are for you or not? Choosing the right look is key to sprucing up your style.
Blunt Straight Bangs
Make a statement with these dramatic bangs. This look works best if you have a larger forehead, otherwise you could close off your face. Have fun experimenting with a shorter baby bang or a longer version that brushes your lashes. When styling these bangs use a flat iron to get a sleek look.
Side Swept Bangs
If you are afraid of change these bangs are the baby step towards a new you.  Anyone can create a soft look by taking hair from one side and sweeping it across your forehead. A small amount will give you a subtle wisp that can be worn as a bang or not and a larger amount of hair will create a heavier bang. If you opt to keep them on the longer side, they can blend into face framing layers, or give them definition by starting at brow length and angling down.
Textured Fringe
This type of bang gives you the look without closing off your face. By creating a wispy sheet of hair your features are still visible. It creates a soft look with versatility. This is a good choice for all hair types. We chose this type of bang for Alecia to frame her face and soften her look. Creating texture in her bang gives her lift with a modern look.

Alecia Biggs fills you in on a fun style:
New chic trends include chopped tresses and texture.  If you are afraid to make the permanent plunge, here is an easy trick to get this sassy style without snipping your strands.  Start off by spraying each section of your hair with a workable styling spray such as Bumble & Bumble Spray De’ Mode, then set in hot rollers.  Hot rollers provide more volume and longer hold than a curling iron, but an iron can be used to touch up limp curls.  Spray your hair once more and remove the rollers after they have cooled.  Next separate the bottom of your hair into four separate sections, cupping them in your hand.  Scrunch the hair and raise it to the length you desire and secure with bobby pins.  If you want to get creative and create an asymmetrical look make one side higher.

Jaimie Woehr’s tips for a salon quality blow dry at home:
If you are tired of those limp locks, with the right products and techniques you can achieve va va voom volume in a few simple steps.  First cleanse your hair with Bumble & Bumble thickening shampoo.  Towel dry your hair and apply Redken Fabricate to the root area, concentrating on the areas of your head where you want the most volume. Through the ends apply Bumble& Bumble Thickening Spray to give your hair texture and hold.  Remove moisture by power drying your hair upside down to give added volume.  Once the hair is 90% dry, section the hair into 1” partings starting from the bottom and continue drying using a round brush.  Creating clean sections while blow drying makes hair easier to control.  I recommend using a 4 ½” diameter boar bristle brush for medium to long length hair. When you reach the crown area, allow your hair to cool around the brush, this will give lasting volume.  Once your hair is blown out, lock in the volume and shape with Redkens Quick Dry Hairspray.  With these tips and products you can become the voluminous vixen you were born to be.
